2. From the screen below, please note the status for SpamAssassin. If SpamAssassin has not been enabled yet, click on the Enable SpamAssassin button. To simplify the process we will not be turning on the Spam Box.

After SpamAssassin has been enabled, click on the Configure SpamAssassin (required to rewrite subjects) button.

3. Now that you are on this screen, ensure that you configure the following. Firstly, add a score into the required_score textbox. We are recommending a score of 8.  Next, add the text *****SPAM***** to the rewrite_header subject textbox. Click on Save when you are done.

Now all emails which are determined as spam by SpamAssassin will be flagged with the text *****SPAM***** in the subject of the email.

4. Now that you have configured SpamAssassin, the next step is to filter out email that is marked as SPAM to be discarded automatically before it reaches your mailbox. To do this, go back to your home menu and click on the ‘User Level Filtering’ icon located in the Mail header section to access the following screen.

What you have just configured, is a rule which states that every e-mail which has been flagged *****SPAM***** in the subject should be automatically discarded by the Control Panel software.

After you have replicated the settings, click on the Activate button.

8. After clicking on the Activate button, you will be brought to this screen that shows that the filter has been successfully added.
